MOSCOW, Sep 28 (PRIME) -- Gazprombank Group has closed the acquisition of the Mega malls in Russia from Ingka Centres, the owner of Sweden’s IKEA, a representative for Gazprombank told PRIME on Thursday.

The deal comprises 14 Mega malls in Moscow, the Moscow Region, the Leningrad Region, Omsk, Ufa, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Nogorod, and the republic of Adygeya with the combined sales area of 2.3 million square meters.

Gazprombank Deputy CEO Daniil Khachaturov told PRIME that the deal encompasses a possibility of Ingka Centres buying back the malls. Khachaturov refused to disclose the sum of the deal, but said that the bank borrowed no money to finance the acquisition.
